In an era of industrial revolution designers ware always obsessed with pushing the limits of technology to reach a new edge, at that time a Danish designer called Verner Pantona was preoccupied with the idea of producing a single pieced chair that can overcome load and function properly. This obsession led Panton to design one of the most famous chairs of all times.
The chair was produced in four different production periods and materials by various manufacturers. Basically the concept ware initiated in the early 60’s, and production started in the 1967 by Herman Miller using Luran-s BAYER AG as the material, one year later the manufacturer introduced Polyurethan to be used instead of the previous material. After that in the 1971 till 1979 Herman Miller used Polystyrol. In 1999 the chair entered a totally new era where Vitra toke over the production process and used Polypropylen to produce it. Finally this chair is a master piece and a collectable to those who are interested in product design and furniture.
